Social Sales Coordinator - Lake Blackshear Resort

Our campus is comprised of 1,308 acres of pine and hardwoods located on a beautiful 8,800 acre cypress lakefront - Lake Blackshear.   Lake Blackshear Resort has 88 rooms, villas and lake cabins, a full service fine dining restaurant and bar, catering, seasonal food and entertainment lakeside, conference center, marina with boat rental, and18 hole-golf course. In addition we offer 82 camp sites (of which many are water front), a pioneer camp area, 3 community shelters and 4 open air picnic pavilions, swimming beach, 3D archery course and a military museum and static military displays of planes, cannons and tanks.  

We are managed by the Southeast's premiere hospitality management company, Coral Hospitality.

General: This position reports directly to the General Manager.  This is a salaried position with performance incentives.  Pay and benefits are competitive.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

. Assist with the development, implementation, and management of marketing plan for local catering.

. Conduct social media solicitation campaigns to increase awareness of our services and secure clients.   Insure web site information is kept current.

. Conduct facility tours and site visits as necessary to secure business.

. Follow up on inquiries and leads for meetings and events in a timely manner. Qualify the customer needs and dates for the event to determine if the event is a good fit for the property.

. Coordinate the booking of events such as reunions, community events and other social events. Detail the events to insure all customer needs are understood.  Develop contracts, proposals, and customized menus to meet client needs. Up sell where possible or make packages that include other resort amenities such as golf or boat rentals. Close the sale with the customer obtaining customer deposits.

. Sell sleeping room blocks connected to the event. Monitor blocked space to insure client is meeting their contractual obligations.  Initiate release of blocked space on cutoff date to allow sale of these rooms to other customers.

. Conduct tastings on an as needed basis for clients (with signed contracts and packages)

. Secure and monitor pertinent information requirements related to catered events and maintain strict timelines for information between the Client, Culinary department and Banquet Captain.

If not available, order linens, chairs, tables, tents, etc. from outside vendors on an as needed basis.

. Ensure proper service to clients during the banquet or event.  Act as the onsite contact.  Receive customer complaints and insure corrective action is taken.

. Maintain account files, ensuring accurate communication between client and Resort staff.

Perform "cold calls" on businesses to promote our services.     

. After the event, follow up with client to thank them for their business.  Solicit feedback both positive and negative that will benefit management and the event staff.

Minimum Requirements:

Two years sales experience.  Hospitality sales experience is preferred.

Demonstrated experience in coordinating social events such as reunions, event planning and community events.  Some of this experience must be in the coordination of events with 300 or more participants.

Two years’ experience in developing sales contracts with clients is required.

Demonstrated knowledge and use of a personal computer including word, excel and PowerPoint.

Experience with marketing is preferred but not required.
