EXPERIENCE:  Must have 3 years of HVAC experience.  HVAC certification a plus or able to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Three to five (3-5) years of experience as a Chief Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

PAY: $45,000-50,000 commensurate with experience

We are looking for a hard-working Chief EngineerUnder the direction of the General Manager, the Chief Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the Property Operations department to include property operation, maintenance and repair of all heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and mechanical equipment.Develops, coordinate and monitors a maintenance program to ensure the safety and comfort of all staff and guests. Secures and protects the property’s assets, including facilities and equipment. 

Essential Functions:

    • Plans and implements engineering programs, including defining the project philosophy, activities, milestones, and staff requirements.
    • Develops and maintains a schedule and budget for the assigned engineering project.
    • Provides reports on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedule accordingly.
    • Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
    • Identifies project staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with supporting organizational managers.
    • Implement the preventive maintenance program of all-building equipment and public areas, including the training of the Engineering staff on the management of such a program.
    • Maintain inventory of all parts and supplies.
    • Purchase all parts, supplies, tools and equipment related to Engineering.
    • Ensure the proper operation, maintenance and operation of all equipment.
    • Monitor staff performance in all phases of job functions ensuring that all procedures are carried out to department standards; rectify any deficiencies with respective personnel.
    • Authorize requests for vacation/sick leave, schedule changes,
    • Develop and submit weekly staffing schedule keeping in mind zero overtime policy. Under extreme circumstances, make GM and HR aware of exceptions.
    • Approve bills and invoices, statements, budget data.
    • Follow up on projects and assignments given by the General Manager.
